Welcome to the latest edition of the monthly release roundup! The integrations were flowing in March, making it even easier for customers to use Nextmv’s route optimization engine alongside their other favorite tools and services. Let’s dive in!
The latest on Nextmv Cloud
Nextmv Cloud makes it easy to plan and optimize routes via our API and demo space.
Onfleet integration
What does the Nextmv Onfleet integration do?
Our integration is Onfleet certified and uses Nextmv as an extensible optimization layer to create assignments for Onfleet – expanding your ability to represent business logic.
When should I use the Onfleet integration?
This integration is designed for current Onfleet customers and any folks who are interested in using Nextmv’s route optimization with Onfleet’s platform. This simple API integration allows users to insert an extensible route optimization layer that includes considerations like:
- Transporting items that require specific transport conditions (like refrigeration) that can only be handled by certain vehicles in a fleet
- Weighting certain stops as more critical to visit than others
- Honoring driver contracts with maximum route lengths or time spent on road
- Preventing drivers from waiting more than a certain amount of time at stops
- Ensuring that certain stops are all on the same route, regardless of the order in which they’re serviced
- Including a list of preferred break locations for drivers
You can also use the Nextmv Onfleet integration when you want to test and analyze route solutions. These capabilities let you determine how long you need to let the optimization run in order to find a solution, compare one route solution to another, and also ask questions about how many vehicles you need in your fleet or where to put a new depot.
How can I get started with the Onfleet integration?
Sign up or log in to Nextmv Cloud. The Onfleet integration is part of our Premium plan. Once logged into the console, start a free Premium trial for 14 days, no credit card required.

HERE integration
What does the HERE integration do?
The HERE integration is an API integration that allows customers to use HERE features like real-road networks plus real-time or historical traffic data with Nextmv’s route optimization for more accurate ETAs.
When should I use the HERE integration?
Do you service regions with geographical features like mountains or infrastructure features like one-ways?
Do you service regions that experience rush-hour traffic or frequent congestion?
Use the HERE integration to have ETAs take those factors into consideration. For instance, if you’re servicing an area with many bridges or a metropolitan area at 5pm, Nextmv’s route optimization using the HERE integration will return routes and ETAs that reflect these scenarios.

Streets (OSRM) integration
What does the Streets integration do?
The Streets integration includes a Nextmv-hosted OSRM server, allowing customers to use the real-road networks with Nextmv’s route optimization for more accurate ETAs.
When should I use the Streets integration?
Do you service regions with features like mountains or infrastructure features like one-ways?
Do you want Nextmv to host an OSRM server for you?
Use the Streets integration to incorporate real-road networks into your route optimization without needing to create a third-party account or host a separate server. For instance, if you’re servicing a rural mountain town with curvy roads, Nextmv’s route optimization using the Streets integration will provide more realistic routes and ETAs.

Vehicle initialization costs
What does the vehicle initialization costs feature do?
Vehicle initialization costs apply fixed costs for using a specific vehicle to service a route – giving customers more control over how their fleet is utilized.
When should I use vehicle initialization costs?
Do you have a mixed fleet with vehicles like trucks, cars, and bikes?
Do certain vehicles in your fleet cost more to use than others (e.g., rental cars)?
Use vehicle initialization costs to factor in the cost of using specific vehicles that are eligible to service stops. For instance, if a stop requires a small pickup, it may be more cost effective to use the scooter that’s 2 km away rather than the truck that’s 1 km away.
